When it comes to installing flooring you need to choose flooring attractive to you and one that is durable for the type of activity that happens in your home. Never force a flooring to fit your lifestyle. Pick flooring that compliments your lifestyle.

Porcelain Tile

Porcelain tile is an excellent flooring selection because it is durable, cost effective and stylish. Porcelain comes in many sizes, colors and finishes. For example, if you want a tile that resembles marble and affordable, then a manufacturer can make a digital image of marble to place on the porcelain tiles.

Scraped Wood Flooring

Hand scraped wood has an excellent finish. It looks beautiful in any home and can endure rough behavior that can happen in a home from pets and children.

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered Wood Flooring is made of finished wood and plywood. This flooring has no problem with meeting high expectations for durability in high-humidity areas. It can be sanded and refinished. Engineered wood flooring can twist and wrap which allow it to stand up well in areas of moisture. This wood flooring can be used in both kitchens and bathrooms.

Saturday, November 26th, 2011

Are you getting a new pet for your home this holiday season? If yes, are you wondering about what are pet friendly flooring? If yes, we are here to tell you about pet friendly flooring and give you a few stain removal tips. Read below to learn!

When getting a new pet, many accidents can happen while housebreaking your pet. How will you fare against pet stains that may hinder your house flooring?  Here are just a few ways you can promptly remove stains and select pet friendly flooring that still looks amazing in your home:

Clean Up Pet Stains

To make sure stains do not set in your flooring, you have to be quick to clean.  When you see a stain, immediately use a cloth or paper towel to dab it clean. An effective cleaning tool for liquid stains is a wet or dry vacuum. Use dishwashing liquid soap and water to lift the stains. Never use laundry detergent or bleach to clean a stain.

You can tell if a stain has not been completely cleaned when you can smell the stain. A pet stain can make an entire room smell horrible instantly. To eliminate pet smells buy enzyme treatments. Enzyme treatments can chemically break down components that cause bad smells.

Use white vinegar and water to clean up urine.  It makes for a great cleaning solution.

Prevent Accidents

Give your pet a designated area to relieve his or herself. Pet stores sell special pads or cushions that have built-in moisture barriers and include enzymes that help break down odors and bacteria. This is a great tool for potty training.
