1970
The husband and wife team of Jim and Gerri Boyd founded the business in 1970, trading as Jim Boyd’s Carpet World in the Baltimore, MD area.
1998
In 1998, the company moved to their current modern 11,500 sq. ft. flooring showroom and warehouse in Timonium, MD offering sales, and installation for a wide selection of quality Hardwood, Ceramic, Porcelain, Tile, Vinyl, Laminate, Luxury, Area Rugs and Carpet.
1999
In 1999, Jim and Gerri joined the national buying co-op Flooring America. This affiliation provides our customers with an even greater selection of flooring, more competitive pricing and extended warranties.
Jim Boyd’s Flooring Now
Jim Boyd is frequently seen on the sales floor assisting customers. Jim states we are like a family here. From our installers to our warehouse people to our sales team to our office staff; we like to hug our customers. Based on the solid growth curve enjoyed by Jim Boyd’s Flooring America, their customers must like to hug back.
Jim and Gerri’s daughter, Dana Pflugrad, has joined this family team at Jim Boyd’s Flooring America. Dana was a stay-at-home mom for several years before returning to work.
Our sales manager at Jim Boyd’s Flooring America, Larry Hunt, is also an important member of our team. Larry has been with our company for over 10 years and has been instrumental in building the business. Larry will always greet you with a big smile and warm welcome.
